....and the 2007 NFL Draft begins!! Go AD!

My predic for the #1 pick: LSU QB JaMarcus Russell because Oakland needs a quarterback.

Calvin Johnson is great, but Oakland needs to rebuild their team, and you can't build it around a WR.

But we'll see!

Yup, it's going like I figured it would:

1. JeMarcus Russell (QB LSU), Oakland

2. Calvin Johnson (WR Ga. Tech), Detroit

3. Joe Thomas (OT Wisc.), Cleveland

4. Gaines Adams (DE Clemson), Tampa Bay

5. Levi Brown (OT Penn. State), Arizona

6. LaRon Landry (S LSU), Washington

7. Adrian Peterson (RB, OKLA.), Minnesota

I guess I'm the Minnesota Vikings newest biggest fan! Boomer Sooner!

Ready for Sweet 16 Round Two

The Buckeyes pulled it off! What a great night of basketball....they only game that didn't come down to the wire was the Pitt/UCLA game, and that was still a great game. I love the tourney.

The first part of the Elite Eight is set....Kansas/UCLA and Ohio State/Memphis.

Tomorrow features Florida/Butler (easy Gator win), UNLV/Oregon, UNC/USC, and Vandy/Georgetown. I'm looking forward to UNC/USC the most....

In Sooner football news, Kirk Herbstreit said good things about us on ESPN today! Said if we can get our QB and defensive questions ironed out, and get past texas, we've got a shot at making a national title run. :) Here's hoping!

Off The Rim

As my mom just said...

"Geez, Ohio State can't buy a basket tonight"

Me thinks the Buckeyes are in trouble....

Hometown Hero

Antonio Graves (#22) for Pittsburgh is from the town I was born in (Mansfield, OH). It was cool to hear them announce that on tv a few minutes ago...

KU first to the Elite Eight!

Well, Kansas tried to give us all a heart attack, but they pulled it out against a tough SIU team. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

The Aggies just lost. Acie Law missed an easy basket that could've saved them the game. Whoops! But it was a great game, and Memphis will lose to the winner of the OSU/Tennessee game anyways. My bracket isn't worth much now, though.

On to Pitt/UCLA and Ohio State/Tennessee, both of which should be fun to watch.

Sweet 16-ness

The beginning of the second half of the Kansas/Southern Illinois game....

KU is down by 3. They had better start shaping up! Their offense is all over the place, and they can't hang onto the ball to save their lives right now. SIU's defense really is good.

The talking heads are already talking about how that shot by KU at the shot clock buzzer shouldn't have counted. I think they should wait to see if it matters, first....

SIU's Tatum (SIU's leading scorer) only has 2 pts in the game so far. I'd say KU's D is doing a decent job, but their offense needs to get rolling. SIU's big man Falkner has 3 fouls. Good for the 'Hawks!

13 KU turnovers so far. Noooot good. But I guess the good news is, KU is playing terribly and is only down by 3...

Texas A&M and Memphis are locked in a doozy of a game. It's entertaining to watch, even with the Aggie fans doing their weird chants in the stands. I hope the Aggies can pull it off, but even if they don't, they're not going out without a fight.

TV announcers have a very strange vocabulary, and are not nearly as funny as they think they are. They really need to stop calling the basketball a pumpkin....

Aaron Ross to KC?

In my NFL draft magazine, they're talking about Texas CB Aaron Ross going to the Chiefs, and I think that's a great idea.

Not only do the Chiefs need a good corner, but this way, every time Ross steps out on the field, he'll be reminded that he never got to play in Kansas City (home of the 2000, 2003, 2004, and 2006 Big 12 Championship games) as a college player. Heh.

Don't forget to watch the Jayhawks take on Southern Illinois tonight -- tipoff at 6:10!
